Ok, if you have been reading my blog you may have noticed that I am a Wealthy Affiliate member. You may be wondering what the heck is Wealthy Affiliate and is it just another weird program that will hustle you for your hard earned cash. Well, I thought about that after being in the business blogging arena and pretty much came up with a couple conclusions. So, if you’re interested in reading more see what I have to say about Wealthy Affiliate.
What Is Wealthy Affiliate?
Wealthy Affiliate is a online program designed to help individuals moving in the business blogging world. If you don’t know what business blogging is either did I before I actually started writing as a blogger. I figured blogging was something people did when they were just bored or had nothing else going on. I was definitely wrong. Business blogging is a method of gaining exposure for websites that offer products and services. It’s a pretty simple concept and you use keywords and regular writing techniques to get the thing going. And if you think it’s all just a bunch of hot air, well it isn’t. Big businesses pay good money for quality blogs written for them. But, I wanted more than to just write blogs for other individuals and companies. I want to find out how my blogs could make me money ongoing versus me just write a blog for someone for an income.
So, How Much Does Wealthy Affiliate Cost?
Wealthy Affiliate basically gives you all the tools you need to get your blogging business moving. They teach you about everything from learning the WordPress platform to gaining traffic to your website (you get two sites free). I thought that was pretty cool but the training and resources was probably the best thing about the program to be honest. And I am a stickler on stuff. It could be because I am a Marine Corps veteran or just due to have had a pretty tough go at life. Either way and went through Wealthy Affiliate with a fine tooth and comb. Then I thought about the price of going to college or a trade or technical school. Again, very pricy and at 52 the last thing I need is school debt. No thanks!
I joined Wealthy Affiliate over two months ago and have been doing pretty good I have to admit as I actually like what I am doing with it. It doesn’t feel like work. It feels like I am building something that will provide income for a long time as my site gets bigger and improves in rankings. I’ll be straight with you though, I don’t think this type of business is for anyone. It takes time, patience and the ability to write on your own without someone standing over you shoulder. It takes self control and a vision for your future. It takes someone who has basic writing skills and it’s not a get rich deal.
Is It For You?
I don’t know if Wealthy Affiliate is for you either. I can say that I have run into so many people who give up on something before they even give it a chance and that’s not the way to go. I don’t care if you’re working at a fast food restaurant or are the president. If you give in to negativity and all the naysayers in the world, you’re not going anywhere…regardless of what you do! And I can attest to that from personal experience. I won’t go into all I have done or been through in life but I will say I come from a broken home that forced me to make some impulsive decisions like join the Marine Corps and work some jobs that broke my back. And that’s not the way to succeed in the world. Sure, the Marine Corps is a great organization but I was a 18 year old kid throwing mailbags in Japan as a young marine. The work was hot and sweaty and at the end of the day I was exhausted. But, due to a death in the family I had to do what I had to do so I joined the service. There was no money for college, no money for living.
So, maybe you see yourself in a similar situation, I don’t know because I don’t know you. But I have been a business blogger for the past 4 years and I will say it’s been an interesting ride and yes you can make money doing it. Wealthy Affiliate gives you the tools you need to succeed but much of it is up to you. I look at it like this. I’m getting a marketing and writing education and have the opportunity to build this as the years go on. Wealthy Affiliate has been changing people lives for over ten years now.
There is a cost associated with Wealthy Affiliate but compared to other online programs it’s cheap. You can sign up for free and then if you go Premium you get all the training and access to forums and videos to get you moving in the right direction. The first month is $19.00 and then $47.00 a month but that’s it. There are no hidden charges or anything. Compared to going to a tech school it’s a good deal. But, everyone is different so it’s up to you to decide if Wealthy Affiliate is for you and if you really like to blog and have a vision for you and your family’s future. You can always keep doing what you’re doing but chances are eventually you will decide to just follow your dreams like I did and go for it. I don’t know but I do know that Wealthy Affiliate has helped change a lot of peoples lives and it’s changing mine!
