Failure is not an option!

Most of us who fail at blogging certainly don’t start out thinking we are going to fall on our face. But did you know that most of the people who fail at blogging had the best intentions at first? What happens when blogs fail is those of use who start a blog get sidetracked and eventually because of little or no results quit before we find any type of success. It’s not your fault if this happened to you. It’s just the way it goes if you don’t stay the course on your blogging journey.

If you do a search on Google you’re bound to find a whole boatload of blogs that people have written in virtually any niche you can think of. Are these people really succeeding? Chances are they are seeing little to no success. Why is that and how can you avoid the pitfalls these people made? By learning how to blog effectively and choosing a niche that has little competition.

What Can You Do To Prevent Failure?

While there is no guarantee your blog will succeed and you will make a million dollars as an affiliate marketer there are some things you can do to prevent failure. The most important thing is to be consistent! And I believe you or anyone can do this with your blog if you consistently write quality content that helps people. That’s it! Find a niche that you like and stay the course for months and years on end. Eventually what will happen is you will develop trust from your readers and your blog will climb the ladder of the search engines.

How do I know this? Because I was in the same boat two years ago. I started this blog and while I didn’t get a lot of traffic at first eventually it all began to click because I was consistent. My first year I did very little but build my blog up. My second year something happened. I started making money, not a lot but enough to see that my efforts were paying off. Now I am in my third year and the sky is the limit how much I can earn with my blog website. But if I hadn’t been consistent none of this would of happened!

Keep writing quality content! Add good links to your website and don’t ever say never! You can succeed at blogging if you believe in yourself and stay the course. This doesn’t mean you have to be a writing machine and never take any breaks. Not at all. I take breaks all the time but I also always come back and write another article. I never quit.

That’s my suggestion to you if you do decide to start a blog and promote a product or service on your website. Keep going even when you feel it’s not worth it. Take a break, see a movie or go to the gym but don’t give up on your dreams! The days of working a nine to five job for twenty years are over for most people. It’s just the way it is due to drama at work, unsatisfied customers on your watch, illness or burnout. And injury is a leading cause of disability as well.

Blogging is a great way to not only express yourself but a way to earn a living if you keep at it. But don’t take my word for it! I know you can succeed at blogging and you just have to be confident and do it! It’s not rocket science and I guarantee if you keep at it you will succeed!

Here’s to your success!

  2. Great post and advice Dave. I agree that consistency and quality are the best ways to be successful with an online business and that is my number 1 priority right now…being consistent with quality content. Thanks,
    Curtis.

  3. You’re definitely right, to be successful at blogging you just have to keep throwing out good quality work on a consistent basis. Otherwise no matter what niche one choses there blog will fail. Good Post

    1. True. And a lot of it is hit or miss so you have to offer something of value and do some subtle changes if necessary to get your website noticed. It’s a learning process but if you have a good service or product you can be successful. Thanks for the comment!

  4. Great article. I agree with everything you said. Consistency is the key to success. I remember when I first started blogging; I had very little to no traffic. Now it’s been 6 months, I am starting to make some money. Even though it is not a lot, knowing that I am getting rewarded for my effort is the best feeling in the world. And this motivates me to keep on top of my website. Some days I do feel feel like quitting, but now you just motivated me to keep going. I perfectly ok to take a break. Occasionally I take a break, but I never give up I always come back to my blog. I am a firm believer that if you stick to something consistently, you will succeed. Thank you for sharing your article. Wish you the best on your online journey.

  5. Very inspirational post. I think staying positive is important with whatever you do. It’s okay to take a break if necessary, but keep the faith to push forward at whatever speed is good for you.

  6. Hi David, thanks for the tips. I think that consistently posting is probably the most challenging part of blogging. I think in the future, I may try to allot a specific time, early everyday that is dedicated to posting new content towards building my site’s reputation.

  7. Thanks for the confidence booster. I like the positive message you bring by advising people to stay the course. The little bit of testimonial is heart touching. I also appreciate that you state that when you are stuck or feel ready to quit that it is ok to take a break but not to give up. Great advice!

    1. Definitely take a break when you get frustrated or overwhelmed. Also look at your niche. Many people start a niche that isn’t doing so well but after time learn enough to start a successful website when their others didn’t fare so well.
