You never know what life will throw at you. One day you could be sitting high and mighty with a view of the city in a phat office and the next eating out of a dumpster. You don’t think it’s possible? Sure it is and that’s exactly pretty much what happened to me a few years ago. I was doing well, making a decent living and the next thing I knew I was out of a job and out of a paycheck. Did it bother me? Sure, at first it did but then I thought about it for a minute. Why the hell should I have to pimp out my body for a dollar? I mean I thought prostitution was illegal in most states.
But, that’s exactly what I was doing working for someone else. I was selling myself for an income which never really helped to make any ends meet. I was still dirt poor and getting poorer and tired more everyday.
What did I do? I said NO MORE! That’s right, I quit anything that had to do with hard work. No more digging trenches on jobs sites. No more working my butt off just to make enough to sit in a sweaty apartment. No more giving a crap. I stopped caring about all of that.
I started blogging seriously a few years ago. I wasn’t totally sold on the fact that you could make any money this way but figured what the hell. I knew how to write and I learned that some people actually made money blogging. I wanted in on the action. I didn’t know how I was going to do it so I researched some stuff on the net on making money as a blogger. I have to admit it was information overload at first. I didn’t have any idea how to start but ran into some site that offered training for blogging and affiliate marketing. I signed up for their free membership and started building a niche website.
HERE IS HOW I DID IT.
It was actually pretty easy to start building my website with this platform I joined. I used their site content tool along with the keyword tool that I used to find topics and keywords to blog with. Below is a screen shot of the site content tool page for my account.
To access the blog I want to write I just click on the post like the one you are reading that you see above. It then opens up and I just start writing on it. Once it’s finished I hit publish and it gets added to the blog posts on my website. Simple right?
But, to get the right keywords for my article I have to use the platform’s keyword tool which is easy too. Below is a screenshot of the Jazzy keyword tool I use to research topics and keywords and keyword phrases I want to target.
The keyword tool is easy to use and comes with the Premium membership of the Wealthy Affiliate which is the platform I use. You can see their are a number of options with this tool and yes, I do recommend using a tool to research the perfect keywords for your blogs. You will definitely see a difference when using one. For Premium memberships this tool is free and I have found other subpar tools that cost $100.00 a month and I get this one for free.
The platform is probably the best out there for bloggers looking to earn with their websites. It’s easy to navigate and I have to say at 2 1/2 years of working on this website using all the tools the Wealthy Affiliate membership cost me it has paid off more that I ever thought. The cost for the membership? Just $49.00 a month and that includes hosting, the site builder, the keyword tool. online support and a memberbase of successful entrpreneurs who helped me get to where I am today. Sure, it’s been a lot of work but guess what. I no longer have to work that crappy job anymore. It’s over and done with and now I just focus on writing a few blogs a week and that’s it.
One thing I realized is that I had to spend a little money to start making money as a blogger. I needed the training and support and thankfully I found it through the Wealthy Affiliate. I won’t say they took me by the hand and made my blog a success because I did have to do the work. But, the training was all there plus they offer weekly videos to help with the website with topics like marketing, writing, SEO and just about everything else you could imagine for bloggers looking to earn online.
Does it all work? Absolutley but it does take time to build up your website. Once you do that the rest is easy. I tell people to expect to work on your website for at least six months to a year before expecting any results.
Ok, so that’s all I have to say about how I quit my crappy job. I would recommend this for anyone looking to earn extra money on the side or if you’re really serious, make it a full time job for yourself. It can be done and I am living proof!
