If you’re searching around for the best blogging websites, I guarantee you will probably find yourself shaking your head trying to decide which works and which ones are a waste of time and effort. I had a similar problem trying to find a website that caters to newbie bloggers. You’ve probably heard of a few of them, Pro Blogger, Weebly and Simple Site. As a newbie I found myself wondering what the heck is the best one to choose from and which one would help me not only build my website but which one would get me the most bang for my buck. It’s just too confusing. Weebly looked to be a good one and I have to admit today this platform has a number of cool options from the Free site to the Pro Version. I did like the fact that Weebly.com had a website builder that is pretty simple and straightforward. But I will say when starting out your blogging business you really want to build a site that doesn’t have too many upgrades that you just don’t need. The price for a Weebly Pro version was reasonable at $12.00 a month and that version has a lot of options to build a decent website. But, is this one of the best blogging websites on the market today? I guess if you listen to the website company they would say that yes they are. But I’ve seen people try and sell land that was worthless in some rural area that they swear the value is going to increase threefold in a short time. You really need to know what it is you’re looking for as far as a quality website is concerned before diving in.
Look Before You Leap!
So, what are you looking for in a website? Personally I look for ease of use at a cost I can afford. Being a bit technically challenged I don’t need all the bells and whistles but I do want a website that will have options like an all in one SEO builder. I think that’s what will get your site moving in the right direction and allow you to gain some good traffic. I also want something that uses WordPress which is probably hands down the best blogging website builder around. I like the fact that you can learn on WordPress and if you get stuck you can figure stuff out fairly quickly. But depending on your needs you can choose one of the many blog sites that suits you best. If you’re looking to start a business I would consider upgrading to the business or pro version of a site like Weebly or Simple Site. If you’re looking for a personal site then one of the free packages works fine. Take a look at these different website builders and see what looks to be a winner and a flop. Top Website Builders

Here’s a common question people ask when they are considering starting out as a blogger looking to earn an income. “Can You Really Make Money Blogging?” It’s all too common for people to be confused as to how to actually earn as a blogger especially when they don’t have any clue as to what to do to even think about becoming an affiliate marketer. Because affiliate marketing really is all about writing content and has very little to so with the other aspects a blogger may think will generate an income for them. So, learning how to become an affiliate marketer really is all about blogging. And why do you think that is? Put simply, blogging or writing content is the way affiliate marketers actually get people to view whatever it is they are promoting. You’re content is what sells to be perfectly frank.
What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a popular way of earning through the promotion of products and services and when I started as a marketer I thought initially that all I had to do was find a way to promote my products. I figured maybe post a few links to some social media platforms would probably be all I needed to do. Then I figured the products would just sell themselves. Man, was I off base! In fact I was so off base I could of been wasting my time for years promoting products through social media. So, I started to research online and always found myself asking “Can you really make money blogging?” It seemed like everywhere I turned the answer always led to no. Sure, I found these programs from online gurus that claimed to be able to make me an awesome affiliate marketer but I never heard anything about having to blog. I never heard that content is king. That is not until I actually checked out Wealthy Affiliate.
Blogging Through Wealthy Affiliate
Now, you’re probably wondering what the heck is Wealthy Affiliate and is this just another flim flam operation designed to take your money? That’s exactly what I asked myself when I checked it out. I knew a couple things though. The first being I didn’t know the first thing about being a marketer but I did know I was a halfway decent blogger. I understood about keywords, search engines and how to attach links to products and I figured that was really all I needed to know. But, I didn’t have the support or real world knowledge and kept asking myself that question…”Can you really make money blogging?” Once I signed up with the Wealthy Affiliate program I began to learn how. I won’t say this program is an easy fix and you will be rolling in the money once you sign up. I won’t even say it’s for everyone either. But, for someone who is willing to work at becoming a better blogger and wants to work as an affiliate marketer there really doesn’t appear to be a better solution than the Wealthy Affiliate.
The Wealthy Affiliate platform is geared towards helping people start their own business. Plain and simple. So, I guess when people ask me if you can make money online as a blogger promoting affiliate products and services I guess I can honestly say yes. And I am not one to be convinced easily. I know there are a ton of scams and schemes out there and I’ve tried a few of them. I am also a Marine Corps veteran and figure I should be able to weed out the B.S. but there can be some tricky schemers out there. So, when deciding to join Wealthy Affiliate I checked out all I could about the company. For starters they have been online for over ten years and have continually strived to improve the program through the last decade. The Wealthy Affiliate has also changed many lives not only financially but in other ways as well. Their support can’t be beat and I found it cool that the owners actually welcomed each and every new member. Sure, there is work to be done on my part and I’m still relatively new having joined three months ago but it’s a good start. Plus, I have already seen some positive results. So, if you’re on the fence and are still asking yourself “Can you really make money blogging?” my answer would be yes….if you’re willing to learn and do the work. The Wealthy Affiliate program gives you the tools but you have to put them to use!
Blogging for an income takes some work I have to tell you. And it’s not something you just do on a whim and the next thing you know you’re the next internet blogging sensation. Unfortunately, too many people get into blogging for money for the wrong reasons. What reason do you think that is? It’s money!. That’s right. Many people I talk to want to start a blog for free and make money but really have no idea how it works. They just want to start some random blog and figure out how the thing can make them money. And, if I try and explain to them how it all works I get the feeling it sounds too complicated to them. And you know what? For some it may be.
For anyone looking to start a blog for free and make money I would say first to ask themselves if they have a few personal traits that are necessary to succeed at blogging. First is “Do you have patience?” Probably one of the more crucial traits to have when starting a blogging for money business is patience. Starting a blog is one thing but playing the waiting game for that blog to start earning is another. If you don’t have patience you don’t need to try and make an income at blogging, plain and simple. The next trait would be “Do you have the capacity to learn and implement what you have been taught?” In the world of blogging and in other industries everyone wants stuff done fast. And many people who get into blogging want to have things done for them. Like writing blogs. That’s right. You would be surprised how many want to start a blog for free and make money but don’t want to do the work themselves. I know, it kind of defeats the purpose right? They look for auto bloggers, content writers on writing platforms and do whatever they can to not have to do the work themselves. I’ll tell you right now this method is wrong and more often than not a ticket to failure. So, if you are one who is not self motivating and can’t even write your own content blogging is definitely not for you.
The above are just a couple traits that are crucial to being successful as a blogger. So, can you start a blog for free and make money? Absolutely if you are motivated, a self starter and can learn some simple processes. And to be honest you can start on any of the platforms online designed for bloggers looking to earn. But, a word of warning when choosing one of these platforms. You want to find one that has gives you a free starter website and more importantly, training that will help you to succeed. Learning to blog for an income is a journey and takes time and patience and I’m not here to tell you it’s all a walk in the park. So, forget all those hyped up websites that tell you you’re going to make 500.00 a day blogging. It just doesn’t happen. But, if you learn all you can about Google and how your website gets ranked over time, how writing a blog needs to have certain characteristic within the content, and how success is not an individual thing, then you can start a blog for free and make money.
I think you’re starting to understand where I’m going with all of this. And, it’s really not that difficult to start a blogging business if you just put in the work. Most blogs will fail simply due to lack of content being produced which is key to becoming successful at blogging. It’s not all about the paid marketing tactics or the constant tweeting and Facebooking your latest updates on your blog. It’s all about writing quality content day after day and not much else. So, what would I suggest to someone looking to start earning online as a blogger. I would simply say are you starting a blog to help people answer a question or solve a problem or are you just blogging because you are desperate to make money? If you get into blogging for the right reasons and actually enjoy writing and researching, then you’re bound to succeed. And if you can identify a reader problem and help to solve that issue you’re doing fantastic.
Ok, so there you go I hope that answered any questions you may have had on whether or not you can start a blog for free and make money. It’s pretty much as I call it above. But, if you’re passionate about what you are blogging then success will come easier. Finally, as I blogger who writes newbie tips for bloggers, I chose a platform that works for me. I wanted something that would teach me all I could about blogging for an income and wanted the support and free starter websites too. I found that here. The Wealthy Affiliate
Ok, here is something I always found pretty interesting when it comes to blogging. That is, what’s the deal with blogging websites and are the free ones worth the time and effort? Now first of all we all know that when something free is offered, chances are there’s a catch. And if it has to do with free blogging websites online then you certainly must assume there is something behind the whole “free” deal. So, let’s look at what you get with one of these free sites for blogging.
First off I found in my search a few free blogging sites that are pretty much ranked as the top of the list. Don’t quote me on that though. I am sure there are tons of more that claim to be the best choice for free deals. I found Site Blog which is ranked number one, Sitebuilder.com number two and Website Builder as the number three spot. All three of these are free and have 1000 of templates to choose from. Site Blog look fairly decent as a website builder and you really can make a professional looking blog for free. They also have a 24/7 support team which looked fairly decent. I liked the fact that they really had a lot of options displayed for the free blogging website. The platform was well built and the appearance professional. For a newbie this type of website really looks like a good sell from the get go.
Upon signing up for Site Blog I found that they had a number of “Packages” available. The Personal was listed at $8.99 a month, Pro at $4.99 a month and Premium at 7.79 a month. Ok, so that’s for the domain that you choose with the package so while the website was free you still have to pay for the hosting and I’m sure there are some other upgrades available which I chose not to take. Before you can even begin to build your website you must buy the domain.
As far as security on the site for free I noticed that they had the Norton logo in the top right corner which I see as a good sign for this site. All in all I think you really have to do your homework when it comes to building a free website. While these sites are free to join you will almost always see an option to buy an upgrade or a domain that may be found cheaper. I will say this though. For someone who is just starting out in the blogging business or really just wants to start their own free blog I say go for it. You can always opt out of the upgrades and to be honest the fee per month for the sites are fairly inexpensive. But, I would definitely go for the sites that are high on the list of blogging websites for free. There are a ton of these sites out there that really are just after your hard earned bucks and they will play every trick in the book to get your to separate from it.
While blogging websites can be found online and are actually decent in some cases, I would definitely do your homework before committing to signing up for one. And remember, if it’s free chances are greater than not that you’re going to find an option to pay for upgrades. So think about that when you’re starting out as a newbie blogger. These types of sites are great for personal use as a journal or for just playing around learning to blog but once you get moving on your own you may want to step up in quality. For beginners who just need something to start out on though these things are really all you need.
For business bloggers these free websites have a variety of options that cost you a little more but not too over the top. I fact I found the price to be reasonable even for the Commerce package. Now, on the flip side you have to really be careful in what you expect out of these sites, some have security options that are questionable and I would definitely make sure they are running one of the more popular security programs like Norton. You may not get all the benefits of a platform designed for professional bloggers who write for companies but they are pretty good for free to low priced web designs. Personally I chose an alternative that’s been online for ten years. I wanted a platform that could teach me all I needed to know to blog like a professional and earn an income doing it. And, I researched a lot of them before committing to any one company. To blog on a platform that’s been proven to help many succeed in the blogging business see this link. Wealthy Affiliate
