If you have followed my blog, you know I write about different ways to promote your website and how to get started blogging for business. So, today I’m going to basically just talk about setting up a business plan with Wealthy Affiliate. If you haven’t heard of this company let me explain a bit about myself first and how I decided to go with Wealthy Affiliate instead of just trying to blog on my own. First of all, I did try and work as a blogger on my own and started four years ago on Fiverr.com. Now, Fiverr is a decent place to get started writing blogs and articles for people. In fact, within two years I had climbed the ranks as being one of the top writers.
What’s The Secret To Success?
You might be asking how did I do this….am I an expert writer? Well, the answer is no I am anything but an blogging pro far from it. But, I did write what the person would order whether it be a blog on food or tire tracks. I just kept at it and for five bucks I would write a 300 word article and submit it to the client. As time went on my feedback went up and my ranking climbed up. My secret to success on Fiverr.com? Simple….it was consistency and nothing else. That was my way to make money blogging. But there was a problem. I was trying to do it all on my own and I wasn’t motivated after a couple years. The topics I would write about were scattered depending on who ordered my “gig” and in the end it just wasn’t rewarding enough. I needed a challenge and I wasn’t getting it. I also want to make money blogging for myself and not for other people.
So, you’re probably wondering why I kept at blogging on Fiverr.com for so long. Why didn’t I quit? Just throw in the towel and call it a day right? Well, the reason I kept blogging on Fiverr is a long story which I won’t go into. Let’s just say I initially started blogging to increase my cognitive skills. That’s a whole story in itself but I won’t bore you with the details. I will say that Fiverr.com helped me move on from my situation and I actually learned a lot about myself and my abilities though. But, I wanted to write for myself and learn how to get going on my own business plan. I didn’t want to keep writing for others and just sell my work for cheap.
What Is Wealthy Affiliate?
Wealthy Affiliate is a platform that basically helps newbie bloggers learn how to make money blogging the right way. And, to be honest in the past I thought I was blogging the right way but I was highly mistaken. I was doing it all wrong. I knew nothing about keywords, SEO, internal links or even how to add pictures correctly. I was a mess when it came to the technical aspects but I came in with one thing that others may not have. I had blogging experience from working on Fiverr. And that was a huge advantage. Now, it was up to me to learn the part of blogging that actually makes money. I am still learning on Wealthy Affiliate. There’s really a ton to learn but the good news is I can learn at my own pace, nobody is messaging me to see if I can write this blog or that blog for them. It’s refreshing I have to admit. Now, I still don’t know everything there is to know about how to make money blogging but I am learning day by day. And I’ve learned a lot!
I guess my reason for writing this since this site is blogging tips for newbies, is maybe my experience as a blogger can help other newbies out. Maybe you are an aspiring blogger who is trying to find their way in the blogging industry. I don’t know but I do know that Wealthy Affiliate has so many lessons on how to write, ways to market and how to write content better that it was the right choice for me. And I am just your average Joe Schmo. I am a Marine Corps veteran and served from 1981-1985 and now am slowing down a bit but not with my writing. I still walk a couple miles a day, get out and fish every weekend and do my best raising a teen age son. Life is what you make it but it’s important to put a business plan in place especially if you have decided to make money blogging. Best of Success to you in whatever you decide to do!Tags: blogging, help, howtomakemoneyblogging, makemoneyblogging, newbie, tips, topics
